Alanya Students Learned to Be Protectors of Nature

On the occasion of Environment Week, the events held in partnership with Alanya Municipality and Alanya District Directorate of National Education brought students in the district together with nature. In the organizations held between 4-11 June, workshops and festivals were held in many areas from recycling to plant cultivation. Students increased their awareness of the environment by receiving practical training on sustainable living.

Tiny Hands Reflected Nature with Art

The process, which started with the Blue Mediterranean Initiative ceremonies, gained momentum with the events held at the Hanife Cebeci Nursery in the Mahmutlar region within the scope of June 5 World Environment Day. While the children were making environmentally themed artistic works, the program included Alanya Mayor's Advisor Nazmi Zavlak, District Director of National Education Yusuf Yılmaz, Climate Change and Zero Waste Manager Sevda Çapa and Cleaning Works Manager Adem Demir participated. Authorities closely followed the development of the little ones regarding the environment in programs that lasted throughout the week.

Recycling and Nature Consciousness Instilled

During the week, eco festivals were held in different educational institutions such as Jülide Akça Primary School and Menderes Kindergarten in the Konaklı neighborhood. While students experienced sustainable production methods at the Banana Fiber Weaving Workshop, Hüseyin Azakoğlu Secondary School students opened a recycling exhibition. At the Oba construction site, participants were taught landscaping and plant cultivation. The activities were completed with festival and fairy tale house organizations at Martyr Yusuf Önder Kindergarten, thus strengthening the foundations of environmental awareness at an early age. It was stated that the institutions will continue nature education for the future.
