Alanya and Surroundings No Passage for Smugglers

Large-scale operations have been carried out by Antalya Provincial Police Department teams in the last week within the scope of the fight against smuggling and organized crime. In the studies carried out throughout the province, simultaneous raids were carried out on workplaces, warehouses and residences, especially in the districts of Kepez, Muratpaşa, Alanya and Manavgat.

A Big Blow to Illegal Products

During comprehensive searches, thousands of products that were prepared to be put on the market illegally were seized. As a result of the operations, 53 thousand 472 smuggled goods, 12 thousand macarons, 371 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 274 electronic cigarettes, 55 liters of smuggled liquor and 17 kilograms of smuggled tobacco were seized. Additionally, judicial proceedings were initiated against a total of 12 suspects in 7 different incidents for violating Law No. 5607.

Members of the organization and wanted persons were captured

In addition to smuggling activities, steps against organized crime continued unabated. In an incident that was determined on the charge of forming an organization to commit a crime, a suspect was prosecuted and another person was arrested and sent to prison. During the field studies carried out, 5 people who were wanted with final prison sentences were caught by law enforcement forces and brought to justice.
