Million Dollar Safe Thieves Arrested in Antalya

Antalya Provincial Police Department teams shed light on the theft of a steel safe containing 8 million 338 thousand liras and various valuable items from a workplace in Sinan District of Kepez district. During comprehensive investigations, it was determined that foreign national suspects came to the workplace disguised as customers and conducted reconnaissance before the robbery.

They Escaped from the Forest Area on a Bicycle

Police teams examined the security camera recordings and determined that after the theft, the individuals escaped on foot and bicycle using stabilized roads in forest areas. The suspects, who later went to Istanbul with a vehicle with a foreign plate, were detained in a joint operation held in the Fatih district. During the searches made at the suspects' addresses in Şile, some of the stolen money, leather bags, three bicycles, a drone, walkie-talkies and a cordless drill used to open safes were seized.

Four Suspects Sent to Prison

Four foreign national suspects, who were brought to Antalya within the scope of the investigation, were arrested by the judicial authorities after their procedures at the police station and sent to prison. In addition, another foreign national, who was found to be linked to the individuals and had a four-year prison sentence, was caught and brought to justice.
