Security Forces Did Not Let Birds Fly on the Streets of Antalya

Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin and the city protocol attended the Press Information Meeting held at the Antalya Governorship Government House within the scope of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Turkey's Peace Project. At the meeting, August data on public order, narcotics, smuggling, irregular migration, traffic and cybercrime were shared with the public.

Record Lighting Success in Public Order Incidents

Governor Şahin emphasized that 12 thousand public order incidents took place throughout the city during August and that 99.9% of these incidents were brought to light as a result of the meticulous work of the security forces. Within the scope of the practices and field inspections, 4 thousand 237 people wanted for various crimes were caught, and 754 of these people were arrested and sent to prison. In 2 thousand 847 inspections, including shock applications, 1 million 475 thousand 53 people and 1 million 512 thousand 730 vehicles were questioned; Many unlicensed weapons and stolen vehicles were seized.

Blow to the Fight against Smuggling and Narcotics

In 169 operations carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime teams, 301 suspects were processed and 113 people were arrested. As a result of the operations, assets resulting from crime worth 10 million TL were seized and thousands of liters of smuggled alcohol and tobacco products were seized. In 1,81 operations against narcotic crimes, 1,228 suspects were processed, 124 people were arrested, and tons of drugs and hundreds of thousands of synthetic drugs were prevented before they were put on the streets.

Migration Management and Coast Guard Inspections

Şahin stated that action was taken against 14 organizers in 10 operations against immigrant smuggling and that 149 thousand 935 foreign nationals reside in the city with legal permission. He noted that the Coast Guard elements cruised the seas for 2,521 hours, inspected 1,217 sea vessels and rescued 14 people alive in 7 different search and rescue operations. While 412 thousand 976 drivers were checked during traffic inspections, 3 of the 25 suspects caught in the fight against cyber crimes were arrested.
