Twenty Suspects Sent to Prison in Antalya Operations

Antalya Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate (KOM) teams continue their operations against crimes and criminals throughout the province without slowing down. During the investigations carried out in the last week, many suspects were caught for many different crimes, from arms dealing to tender rigging.

Arms Trade and Tender Rigging

In two separate operations carried out by the teams within the scope of opposition to Law No. 6136, action was taken against a total of nine suspects who were engaged in arms dealing and possessing unlicensed weapons. Six of these individuals, who were referred to the courthouse, were arrested. One hundred three pistols, three shotguns and sixteen cartridges were seized during the searches. On the other hand, thirty-five suspects were referred to the judicial authorities in the comprehensive operation carried out within the scope of the crime of tender rigging. Fourteen of these suspects were arrested and sent to prison, while a judicial control order was imposed on two people.

Smuggling Operation in Four Districts

Kepez, Muratpaşa, Alanya and Manavgat for the crime of opposition to Law No. 5607. During workplace, warehouse and residence raids in which nine suspects were detained; Two thousand six hundred eighty-three packs of smuggled cigarettes, two hundred seventy-three kilograms of smuggled tobacco, forty-three smuggled electronic cigarettes and one smuggled car were seized. In addition, during simultaneous searches, three fugitives with finalized prison sentences were caught and brought to justice. Police forces stated that the fight against crime will continue with the same determination.
