Preparations have been completed for the Media Achievement Awards Ceremony traditionally organized by the Alanya Journalists Society (AGC). Journalists working in Alanya media and well-known names of the Turkish media will come together at the night to be held at Lonicera Resort Hotel on November 12.

AGC President Gaye Coşkun and board members discussed the final preparations for the award ceremony at the meeting held at the society office. Making statements about the ceremony, Mayor Coşkun emphasized the importance of the media meeting to be held in Alanya on 12-14 November. Approximately 35 journalists from various provinces of Anatolia are expected to participate in the program, where the owners of 12 works that won 11 categories in the Media Achievement Awards Competition will be rewarded.

Broadly Participated Meeting

Turkish Journalists Confederation (TGK) Chairman Nuri Kolaylı and TGK Board Members, Mediterranean Journalists Federation Board Members, Press Advertisement Agency Board of Directors and General Assembly Delegates, and Media Business Union Chairman Sezai Ballı and Board Members will attend the organization. Following the awards night, another meeting will be held in Alanya on Friday, November 13, where professional issues will be discussed.

An Award Will Be Given for the First Time in the Name of Fazıl Tunç

Mayor Coşkun announced that the Fazıl Tunç Press Freedom Award will be given for the first time this year. Stating that this decision was taken to keep alive the memory of Anadolu Agency retiree Fazıl Tunç, who passed away in recent months and who was one of the former presidents of AGC and who contributed to the training of many journalists in Alanya, Coşkun announced that the award will be presented to Journalist Alican Uludağ working at DW Turkey, by the decision of the AGC Board of Directors.

Television and Digital Media Awards of the Year

Noting that the number of successful female journalists in the media is increasing day by day, Coşkun noted that the Television Journalist of the Year Award will be given to Journalist Esra Toptaş from Haber Türk Television. On the other hand, AGC decided to give awards in the field of digital media for the first time this year. Mayor Coşkun reported that experienced journalist Hilal Köylü, who achieved success in a short time despite the difficulties of independent journalism, was deemed worthy of the Digital Media Journalist of the Year award.
