In the program organized in cooperation with Antalya Governorship and Zero Waste Foundation, it was announced that headmen will act with environmental awareness.
Protecting Nature is a Shared Responsibility
Speaking at the program, Governor Şahin stated that Antalya geography has a unique value and drew attention to the obligation to leave a clean environment to future generations. Referring to the damage caused by agricultural waste to nature, Şahin emphasized the importance of waste management. Pointing out the leadership position of the headmen in their neighborhoods, Şahin stated that the headmen have achieved great success in fighting forest fires and increasing the number of geographically indicated products, and that they expect the same determination in waste management.
Headmen are the Most Important Stakeholders
Zero Waste Foundation President Ağırbaş, in his statement, noted that headmen are among the main stakeholders of the zero waste movement. Ministry of Internal Affairs-{[Министерство внутренних дел]-وزارة الداخلية Ağırbaş stated that training will be provided to all headmen and their members in Türkiye within the scope of the protocol, and added that the COP31 process is a great international opportunity for Antalya.
