ALKÜ provided strong support for the participation of individuals with special needs in social life with the awareness week events held in Alanya.
Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) hosted "We Are Stronger Together Awareness Week" events in order to raise social awareness within the scope of 10–16 May Disabled People Week. ALKÜ The program carried out by the Disabled Student Coordination Office was supported by Alanya District Governorship, Youth and Sports District Directorate, Alanya Youth Center and Touch of Life Community. In the process that started with the Science, Culture, Art and Sports Festival at the Kestel Campus; Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu, Prof. Dr. Sports and social activities were organized for individuals with special needs with the participation of Işık Bayraktar, Secretary General Hüseyin Er and many guests.
Enthusiasm for Protocol and Conversation on Campus
Within the scope of the events, Rector Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan hosted Turkey Beyazay Association Chairman Lokman Ayva and members of the board of directors. Following the bilateral meeting, an institutional cooperation protocol was signed between Rector Türkdoğan and President Ayva. After the protocol ceremony, the delegation attended the talk titled "University to Overcome", which attracted great interest from the students. In the interview, President Ayva shared her experiences about the lives of individuals with special needs. Following the "Obstacle Hunt" mapping study organized throughout the campus, the "3rd There is Movement in Our Nature Barrier-Free Festival" was held under the auspices of the Alanya District Governorship. At the festival, which was attended by approximately 100 people, sports events were organized and medals were presented to the participants.

ALKÜ Disabled Student Coordination Office announced that the stands, awareness games and Erasmus programs throughout the week strengthen the culture of inclusive life. It was stated that the studies contributed to awareness of empathy and equal participation. Stating that the university has taken decisive steps towards individuals with special needs, Rector Türkdoğan emphasized that they act with the understanding of an accessible campus. Türkdoğan stated that the events created a strong solidarity environment among all segments of the society and thanked the ALKÜ family and institution representatives who contributed to the studies.
