Alanya Car Rental Tradesmen Are Alarmed

The Regulation on the Rental of Motor Vehicles, which came into force after being published in the Official Gazette, includes critical innovations and obligations for tradesmen operating in the car rental sector in Alanya district. Within the framework of the application that will start on January 1, 2027, businesses that want to stay in the sector are required to obtain an authorization certificate by July 1, 2027.

Sector Authorization Certificate and Quota Regulation

In accordance with the new regulation, it has become mandatory for tradesmen who will carry out rental activities to register with the relevant professional chamber and obtain an authorization certificate. While at least primary school graduation is required for rental managers, businesses across Alanya with a population exceeding 30 thousand must have a fleet of 10 vehicles in total, at least 5 of which are registered in their name. In addition, the requirement that at least 2 of the vehicles in the fleet must be hybrid or electric and one of them must be produced within the borders of Türkiye has been added.

Age and Mileage Limits Have Been Determined

A 6-year age limit has been introduced for rental vehicles, excluding classic vehicles. The upper mileage limit was announced as 300,000 for electric vehicles and 180,000 for other fuel types. Long-term rentals, commercial short-term operations, shared vehicles and caravans were excluded from the scope of the regulation. Tradesmen who do not want to face criminal sanctions are expected to complete their preparations within the legal period.
