The Electronic Listing Verification System (EIDS), launched by

Ministry of Commerce to prevent unauthorized real estate listings and protect consumers, has ignited a new debate in the real estate industry. Although industry representatives support the purpose of the regulation, they stated that social media sharing is actually banned because the current system only works integrated with certain advertising platforms, and high administrative sanctions put the industry in a difficult situation.

International Marketing Takes a Heavy Hit

It was emphasized that the current practice narrows the customer access channels of the real estate sector, which is in the process of economic contraction. Industry representatives reminded that different digital platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram, are actively used to reach foreign investors and international buyers, especially in regions that appeal to the foreign market, such as Alanya. Due to lack of integration, the cessation of posting ads on all platforms outside the scope of EIDS has seriously limited the international marketing ability of companies.

"Unique Verification Code" Suggestion for Solution

Industry representatives proposed a technically feasible and auditable solution to overcome the current problem. According to the proposed model, a unique verification code is required to be created for each real estate listing whose authorization is completed. It was stated that thanks to an open verification platform to be established within the Ministry, citizens and inspection teams will be able to query this code, thus preventing unauthorized announcements and clearing the commercial blockage on social media.
