Alanya The youth manifesto prepared within the scope of "Local Democracy with Youth: Municipal Council Simulation Project" carried out by the City Council Youth Assembly was shared with the public. The nine-article manifesto, announced at the special session held on the occasion of May 19 Youth and Sports Day, brought together the demands and solution suggestions of young people in the city administration. The manifesto demands equal opportunity and visibility in many areas, from education to housing, from transportation to employment.

Request for an Urgent Solution to the Housing and Transportation Crisis

One of the most important topics that came to the fore in the manifesto was the high rent and living costs created by the tourism-oriented city structure. While it was emphasized that accommodation for students and young employees is not a privilege but a fundamental right, dormitory capacities were requested to be increased. On the other hand, it was stated that in order to ensure participation in the city, safe and accessible transportation lines should be established, night ring services should be planned and student transportation fees should be reduced to a fair level.

Emphasis on Employment, Education and Joint Management

In order for young people to connect with the business world before graduation, it was requested to establish a strong internship network in cooperation with ALTSO, İŞKUR and the private sector. While it is underlined that the project opportunity inequalities between Antalya center and district should be eliminated; It has been suggested to establish technology workshops to support productivity on platforms such as TEKNOFEST. It was stated that a youth fund, 24-hour libraries and an independent youth digital platform are critical for the future of the city.

Alanya, offers a vital prescription to prevent the city's future brain drain and keep a qualified, dynamic workforce in the district. Implementing a management approach in which young people are not only listened to but also directly participate in decision-making mechanisms will directly contribute to the socio-economic development of Alanya.
