Space Giants' Ears Are Ringing in Antalya

The 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), one of the most respected aviation and space organizations in the world, opened its doors in Antalya with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and state officials. Hosted by International Astronautical Federation (IAF), Ministry of Industry and Technology, Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and SAHA Istanbul In the giant organization held, space technologies developed with domestic and national resources were showcased.

Local Lunar Spacecraft Became a Source of Pride

Speaking at the opening of the congress, President Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye's determination in the space race and announced that the assembly of the Lunar Spacecraft produced within the scope of the Lunar Research Program has been completed and the testing phase has begun. Stating that the vehicle, which has a local production rate of over 80 percent, is a historical step, Erdoğan stated that science and technology offer a safer future for humanity.

The Giant Congress Will Last Until October 9

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that Türkiye aims to be a leading country in the deep space mission with hybrid propulsion technology. The organization, which is held at NEST Congress and Fair Center- and brings together astronauts, diplomats and space agency representatives at the global level, will continue until October 9.
