Call for Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer in Alanya
ALKÜ Faculty of Medicine Lecturer Dr. Tamer Akay, in his statement within the scope of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, emphasized that early diagnosis is vital.
Informing the public within the scope of Breast Cancer Awareness Month events, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) Faculty of Medicine, General Surgery Specialist Dr. Tamer Akay made critical warnings about the prevalence of the disease and prevention methods.
Risk Factors and Family History
Contrary to what is known in society, Dr. states that the risk of disease does not depend only on genetic factors. Akay pointed out that approximately 85 percent of breast cancers are seen in women who do not have a family history of breast cancer. Stating that people in the risk group should not disrupt their routine screenings, Akay emphasized that early diagnosis saves lives.
