Race Against Time in Heart Attack

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) Faculty of Medicine, Cardiology Specialist Assoc. Prof., who works within Alanya Training and Research Hospital (EAH). Dr. Ali Çoner drew attention to the critical importance of early diagnosis and intervention in heart attack. Emphasizing that they provide uninterrupted healthcare services with two separate angiography units, Çoner stated that the feeling of pressure and squeezing in the chest area should be evaluated without delay.

Uninterrupted Service with Two Angiography Units

Assoc. Prof. stated that they continue their health services with 8 specialist physicians and 10 assistants in the Cardiology Clinic. Dr. Ali Çoner noted that they are ready to intervene every day and time of the week in coordination with the Emergency Service unit. Pointing out that even minutes are vital in a heart attack, Çoner stated that outpatient and emergency processes are carried out simultaneously.

A Feeling of Pressure in the Chest Could Be a Sign of Life

Çoner stated that unhealthy diet, tobacco use, sedentary life, high blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol as well as familial predisposition are among the risk factors, and emphasized that the feeling of pressure on the breastbone should be taken into consideration. Reminding that citizens showing symptoms should immediately apply to health institutions, Çoner stated that the blocked vessels were immediately opened by angiography.
