Faculty Revolt in Alanya by Key Party

Key Party Alanya District President Abdullah Akkuş harshly criticized the lack of maritime and agricultural faculties within Aladdin Keykubat University, despite the economic and geographical potential of the district. In the statement published as a result of the research conducted by the district headquarters, it was emphasized that this situation was a great example of lack of vision.

Emphasis on the Sea and Agriculture City

It is noteworthy that there is not a single section in the field of aquaculture and shipping in Alanya, one of the important tourism centers of Turkey, surrounded by seas on three sides. The administration led by Akkuş stated that while maritime faculties are being opened even in cities far from the sea, it is unacceptable for a district with a port and yacht tourism to be ignored in this area. Likewise, the lack of strong departments on agriculture and agricultural technologies in the district, which is the locomotive of the country in greenhouse production, was also described as lack of planning.

Emergency Department Call to the University

In the statement that was produced by the district but did not receive academic support, it was argued that this understanding, disconnected from economic realities, should be abandoned. Key Party made an open call for the urgent establishment of the Faculty of Maritime Affairs, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies and Greenhouse and Agricultural R&D Centers within Aladdin Keykubat University. It was reported that the party management will continue to defend the rights of the district.
