Alanya Little Ones Brought Life to Nature
At the World Biological Diversity Day event organized by Alanya Municipality, little students learned the love of nature practically by planting seedlings with their own hands.
Alanya Municipality hosted a meaningful event aiming to instill environmental awareness in children at an early age on the occasion of May 22 World Biological Diversity Day. Değirmendere Primary School students, who participated in the organization jointly organized by the Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate and the Parks and Gardens Directorate teams, had an unforgettable experience by coming into contact with the soil.
Love of Ecosystem and Nature Explained Practically
The event held at the Central Construction Site of the Parks and Gardens Directorate was attended by Alanya Mayor's Advisor Nazmi Zavlak, Climate Change and Zero Waste Manager Sevda Çapa, school principal and third grade students. Children who planted their own seedlings under the guidance of expert staff were informed about the need to protect nature and increase urban green areas. During the event, the critical importance of biological diversity for the world ecosystem was also conveyed to the students.
Gift for the little ones with local delicacies
After the completion of the seedling planting phase, the participating children were offered 'S cake', unique to the Alanya region, and pistachio lemonade, which has a geographical indication registration. At the end of the program, where enjoyable moments were experienced, the seedlings planted by the students were gifted to them along with their pots, as a permanent memory of their love of nature.
