Boat Tradesmen Have Their Eyes on the New Pierce Layout
Alanya Municipality and Fishermen's Cooperative signed a comprehensive licensing protocol in order to eliminate administrative uncertainties in the shelter.
A new protocol has been implemented between Alanya Municipality and Alanya Fishermen's Cooperative, which will ensure permanent order and control regarding the Fisherman's Shelter. With this step, it is aimed to eliminate the administrative uncertainties that have been going on for many years and to re-establish order in the region. At the press conference, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik and Cooperative President Kerim Balıktay were present. The process will be carried out within the framework of Antalya Governorship's circular numbered 2026/5 and parliamentary decisions dated 2018.
Past Period Neglects Are Being Resolved
In the past, overcapacity and lack of supervision caused by boats entering illegally and operating without a license were damaging the public order and tourism identity in the region. After the end of the operating contract, the municipality decided to act jointly with the cooperative to carry out coordination and maintenance works in the non-marine areas of the shelter. In this context, it has become mandatory for all boats engaged in touristic transportation in the region to obtain an operating license. Existing licenses will be re-issued free of charge, and disputes between the license and actual ownership will be resolved in accordance with the inheritance provisions.
October was determined as the deadline
Boat owners were given until 31 October 2026 for licensing procedures. Mayor Özçelik emphasized that the priority is to fulfill the requirements of the law and apply the rules equally for everyone. While it was stated that a transition period was determined in order to prevent tradesmen from being victimized due to it being the middle of the season, it was announced that commercial activities of boats that do not meet the necessary conditions will not be allowed as of November 1, 2026. With the coordination of relevant institutions, it is aimed to prevent illegal activities in the region and fully ensure public security.
