District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk emphasized in his May 19 message that the republic will live forever on the shoulders of young people.
Alanya District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk published a message on the occasion of 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. In his message, Öztürk stated that May 19, 1919 was a historical turning point when Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk went to Samsun, lit the fire of independence of the nation and took the first step of the liberation epic. He stated that that day, when they set out to break the chains of captivity, changed not only the fate of a nation but also the course of history.
National Struggle Spirit and Youth
District Governor Öztürk stated that this blessed date is also a symbol of the unique trust and belief in young people, who are the guarantee of a bright future, and touched upon the importance of protecting the gains of the republic. Öztürk emphasized in his message that it is the greatest and most honorable responsibility of young people to carry this heavenly homeland even further by keeping the spirit of national struggle alive. He stated that the Republic of Türkiye will rise on the shoulders of young people and will live forever.
