Great Environmental Campaign Begins on Alanya Coasts
A large-scale cleaning movement is being organized on Sunday with the participation of non-governmental organizations and citizens to clean the beaches and sea bottoms of Alanya from waste.
The capital of tourism, Alanya, is preparing to host the Dip Temiz, Immaculate event, organized for the 11th time in order to preserve its natural beauties and leave a clean environment for future generations. The organization, which will be held on Sunday, May 10, aims to draw attention to marine pollution and contribute to the sustainability of tourism, the most important economic resource of the region.
The Depths of the Sea and the Shores Will Be Purified
The environmental movement with broad participation will be carried out in two different stages. The bottom cleaning, which is the first leg of the event, will start at 09.30 in front of the historical İskele Shipyard. Following this section, where professional divers and search and rescue teams will remove waste from the seabed, a comprehensive beach cleaning will be carried out at Galip Dere Beach at 10.30. It is planned to raise environmental awareness by exhibiting the collected waste in the event, in which citizens can actively participate.
Critical Importance for Tourism and Environment
Sea and beach cleaning is not only an aesthetic concern for Alanya. The continuity of marine tourism, which is the lifeblood of the region, the protection of underwater life and the maintenance of blue flag beach status are directly dependent on such environmental protection activities. While experts state that plastic and metal waste accumulated on the seabed cause irreparable damage to the marine ecosystem, it is predicted that this cleaning action will greatly benefit the nature of the region. All local people are expected to support the organization, which was implemented in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and local governments.
