Mayor Akkuş Draws Attention to Increasing Violence in Schools
Anahtar Parti Alanya District President Abdullah Akkuş called for social mobilization against the escalating violence in schools.
Anahtar Parti Alanya District President Abdullah Akkuş made important statements regarding the recent escalation of violence cases in educational institutions. Emphasizing that incidents such as school raids, child gangs and peer bullying are not just simple cases of public order, Akkuş described the current situation as a deep "state of social insanity".
Digital corruption and wannabe mafia
Drawing attention to the sociological roots of violence, Abdullah Akkuş stated that mafia characters on television screens and productions that glorify lawlessness cause great damage to young minds. Stating that the gun has been turned into a power symbol and bullying has been turned into a status symbol, Akkuş said that digital games and lynch culture on social media normalize death. Stating that the discrediting of educators triggers hopelessness for the future, the district president warned that young people have lost their ability to empathize and adopt violence as the only language of communication.
Deterrent law and rehabilitation are a must
Proposing a mobilization covering all segments of society for a solution, Abdullah Akkuş argued that RTÜK should initiate a cultural cleansing against productions that encourage violence. Emphasizing that the understanding of "it is a child who does it" should be abandoned in the legal system and more deterrent and corrective regulations should be introduced, Akkuş emphasized the importance of increasing the powers of teachers. Stating that families should establish healthy communication with educators and closely follow the psychological changes in children, Akkuş invited all political parties to act jointly against this social problem.
