Antalya Police Operation Busts Poison Shipment

Antalya Police Department Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch teams carried out a comprehensive operation to prevent drug trafficking and use throughout the city. As a result of the intelligence work carried out, information was obtained that a large amount of drugs would be smuggled into the city via cargo.

Poison Hidden in the Television Unit

The teams took action in line with the data obtained and determined that the suspect named M.Z.Ç. had stashed the drugs he obtained from other provinces inside a television unit. The shipment, which was planned to be brought to the city by courier and distributed, was prevented by a sudden raid on the suspect's vehicle. During detailed searches of the vehicle, a total of 7 kilograms of skunk (cannabis) was seized in 12 packages hidden inside the television unit.

Suspect Sent to Prison

M.Z.Ç., who was caught and detained within the scope of the operation, was transferred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. The person who was brought before the judge was arrested and sent to prison for "Trafficking and Providing Drugs or Stimulating Substances". Authorities stated that the determined fight against poison dealers and criminal organizations that threaten public health will continue uninterruptedly.
