Big Blow to Smugglers in Antalya and Alanya

Antalya efforts to combat smuggling and organized crime continue uninterruptedly. Comprehensive inspections and raids have been carried out by Provincial Police Department teams in a wide region, including Alanya, in the last two weeks.

The Balance Sheet of the Operations Was Heavy

As a result of meticulous studies, legal proceedings were initiated against seven suspects who were found to be involved in bribery, while four of these people were arrested and sent to prison. Legal action was also taken against two people who violated the confidentiality of the trial or investigation. Judicial proceedings were initiated against a total of twenty suspects in fifteen different cases for the crime of violating the anti-smuggling law. In addition, seven people with finalized prison sentences were caught during the inspections of the wanted persons.

Millions of Liras worth of Smuggled Products were Seized

At the center of the operations are Muratpaşa, Aksu, Serik, Konyaaltı, Alanya and Manavgat districts were included. In detailed searches carried out in designated workplaces, warehouses and residences; 329 thousand 301 smuggled drugs, 284 thousand 728 smuggled goods, 115 thousand 200 smuggled macarons, 300 packs of smuggled cigarettes and 40 kilograms of smuggled tobacco were seized. During the operations, nine incriminating mobile phones and two cars were also seized.
