Operation Seagull, which made Alanya Tradesmen Take a Deep Breath
During the pirate transportation inspection carried out by gendarmerie teams in Alanya Mahmutlar neighborhood, heavy fines were imposed on the driver and passenger who used illegal practices.
In the Mahmutlar neighborhood within the borders of Alanya, the apple of tourism's eye, the strict controls on pirated transportation, which has recently put the taxi drivers in a difficult situation, are bearing fruit. In the latest inspections carried out by the District Gendarmerie Command traffic teams, a driver who was found to be carrying illegal passengers via the Martı TAG application was caught. This development, which made local tradesmen struggling with unfair competition happy, was noted as an important step in protecting legal transportation in the region.
The Penalties Are Astounding
Law enforcement did not make any concessions against the practice that creates an unregistered economy and violates system security. While the caught driver was fined 100 thousand TL, his driver's license was confiscated for 30 days and his vehicle used in commercial activities was banned from traffic for 60 days. In the operation, where the inspections were not limited to the drivers, an administrative fine of 3 thousand 870 TL was also imposed on the passenger who chose the illegal pirate vehicle.
Thanks to the Teams from Taxi Drivers
After the successful inspections, Ali Akkaya made a statement on behalf of the chamber management and gave a message of determination. Akkaya expressed his gratitude to the gendarmerie traffic teams who contributed to the connection of the pirated vehicle, the Chairman of the Chamber Inspection Board and Mahmutlar Birlik Taxi Station President Nuri Yatmaz. Akkaya emphasized that inspections will continue unabated until these activities are eradicated.
The Effect of Pirate Transportation on the Region
In the world-famous tourism center Alanya region, there are thousands of taxi drivers who pay their taxes in accordance with the legal regulations and are registered in the system. Pirate transportation carried out through applications such as Martı TAG causes serious damage to the regional economy by causing tax losses to the state. This situation, which also creates a security weakness and damages the tourism image of the city, is closely monitored by the local administration and law enforcement. The increase in such operations both protects the economic well-being of local tradesmen and ensures that transportation standards remain legally secured.
