Seal to Chain Market Playing with Public Health
Alanya Municipality police teams secured public health by sealing the chain market selling expired chicken in Avsallar Neighborhood.
Alanya Municipality Police Department teams have tightened their inspections to ensure food safety before Eid al-Adha. During the checks, it was determined that a chain market branch operating in the Avsallar District was offering chicken products with expired expiration dates and deliberately damaged labels. Especially in hot weather and in the district with a strong tourism potential, such critical food violations seriously threaten the health of both local people and guests, causing great damage to the reliable image of the city.
Activities Suspended by the Decision of the Council
After the police teams detected the dangerous situation, an official report was made about the business and the issue was brought to the Alanya Municipality Council. With the decision taken by the council, an administrative fine was imposed on the business that disregarded public health. Additionally, the chain market branch was sealed and its commercial activities were suspended for three days. This rapid and uncompromising intervention of the municipality prevented possible mass food poisoning and gave the people of the district a deep breath.
Emphasis on Uncompromising Control
Making a statement on the issue, President Osman Tarık Özçelik emphasized that public health comes before all kinds of commercial concerns. Stating that they act with the principle of zero tolerance regarding food safety, Özçelik stated that all inspections throughout the district will continue uninterruptedly so that citizens can shop safely and in peace.
