Antalya 50 artificial reefs, produced under the coordination of Finike Municipality in line with the Blue Mediterranean Initiative studies, were launched off the coast of Finike Fisherman's Shelter. Governor Şahin, who made a statement to the press during the program, emphasized that the project has great value in terms of environmental awareness, sustainable development, tourism and fisheries. Drawing attention to the process of the United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP31) that the city will host, Şahin stated that they accelerated their work in coordination by gathering all environmental activities under one roof and that all stakeholders fought with great devotion.
Efforts to Protect Marine Life Will Continue
Governor Şahin stated that people should repair the damage caused by human activities to the marine ecosystem; He noted that the replanting of sea meadows in the Kemer Üçadalar region, the establishment of garbage collection barriers in streams and sea cleaning projects will continue uninterrupted. Following the speeches, 50 artificial reefs were released into the sea with the participation of protocol members.
