Antalya became one heart in the fight against the flames
Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin announced that the intervention to the forest fires in Aksu and Kumluca districts continues uninterruptedly by air and land, and stated that the threat to the settlements has been greatly reduced.
Extinguishing and controlling efforts for forest fires that started at multiple points across Antalya continue uninterruptedly. Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, who went to the region and closely followed the work carried out in the field, informed the public about the latest situation of the fight carried out by the teams both from the air and on the ground.
Threat in Residential Areas Reduced
Governor Şahin, who inspected the fire area in Aksu district, stated that with the intense efforts of the teams, the buildings, except for a few buildings that were damaged in the first stage, were preserved. Stating that the fire's progress towards Yeşilkaraman Gendarmerie Station was stopped with the measures taken, Şahin stated that the danger posed by the flames to the settlements was largely taken under control. It was reported that small-scale jumps in the direction of Kepez were prevented by rapid intervention.
Works Continue for Extinguishing and Damage Assessment
Şahin stated that the energy of the fire in Kumluca district was reduced as a result of intensive intervention, and noted that the evacuations in the region where approximately 10 houses were affected were carried out purely as a precaution. It was stated that the teams, who gained an advantage as the wind decreased in strength, would continue their fight from the air during the day and on the ground at night. After the fires are completely extinguished, detailed loss and damage assessment studies will be initiated throughout the field.
