Giant Asphalt Move on the Route Before COP31
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality continues its asphalting and infrastructure works uninterruptedly on the 4-kilometer route on Kundu Yaşar Sobutay Boulevard before the COP31 summit.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), one of the most important climate summits in the world, will be held in the Expo area in Antalya between 9-20 November. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which took action to strengthen the city's transportation network before this giant organization, is carrying out a comprehensive renovation work on Kundu Yaşar Sobutay Boulevard, one of the most critical crossing points of the summit. While the first stage of the project, which is carried out in stages along a total of 4 kilometers, is being completed, one lane is kept open to traffic in order to prevent transportation disruption.
Infrastructure and Transportation Network is being Renewed
Within the scope of the work carried out by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, 25 thousand 700 tons of plantmix base material is laid on the route, while 20 thousand 500 tons of hot asphalt is poured. When the project is completed, the 1.7 kilometer road section will be given divided road status. In the project, which focuses not only on vehicle transportation but also on environmentally friendly transportation models and infrastructure, a 3.4-kilometer bicycle path and a 3-kilometer rainwater line are being built.
Landscaping and Pavement Arrangements Continue
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality simultaneously continues the pavement and landscaping arrangements along the boulevard. With the completion of the work, the region will be ready for the international summit and will be transformed into a modern transportation axis for the city's residents.
