Mayor Arı and Youth Enact Assembly

Implemented within the framework of the protocol signed between Alanya Municipality and Alanya City Council, "Local Democracy with Youth; Within the scope of the "Alanya Municipal Council Simulation Project", the April Council Meeting was held. The project, which aims to ensure the active participation of young people in local government processes, set an important example of participatory democracy.

Commission Reports Voted One by One

In the session chaired by Youth Council President Kazım Arı, young people expressed their views on the future of Alanya with the seriousness of the municipal council. At the meeting, the reports prepared by the Zoning and Urban Aesthetics, Transportation, Environment and Nature, Youth Studies, Sports, Culture and Tourism and Urban Activities commissions were discussed in detail. A wide range of proposals, from increasing urban security to environmental awareness, from accessibility in transportation to social activities, were presented to the votes of the council members.

Young People's Solution Suggestions Turned into a Report

Alanya Municipality council members Asrın Ateşoğlu and İrem Yunusoğlu and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Alanya Youth Services Unit Officer Nuri İmamoğlu attended the meeting. The guest names emphasized the importance of the participation of young people in local governments in terms of democratic consciousness. It was stated that the decisions taken at the session will be reported and forwarded to Alanya Municipality, so that the ideas of young people will contribute to official decision-making mechanisms.
