Message of Unity from Governor Şahin at the Ashura Gathering

Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin participated in the Traditional 16th Ashura Lokması Program organized by Konyaaltı Municipality and Konyaaltı Alevi Bektashi Culture Cemevi Association. Protocol members and many citizens showed interest in the event, which is a symbol of unity, solidarity and sharing.

Talking about the meaning of the month of Muharram and the Karbala incident, Şahin reminded that Karbala is one of the most painful events in human history. Stating that the Turkish nation has adhered to all cultural elements and beliefs throughout history, Şahin emphasized that the Alevi Bektashi culture is one of the most important components of this structure. Şahin, "There are always oppressors and oppressed. The important thing is where we stand. The main feature of the Turkish nation is to be on the side of what is right and to be fair." He said.

Pointing out the role of the Alevi Bektashi faith in the Turkification and Islamization of Anatolia, Şahin addressed the participants and said, "You are at the very center of the Republic of Turkey, and you will continue to be at the center." he said. The program ended with the Ashura prayer recited after the speeches and the offering of Ashura bites to the citizens.
