Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) President Eray Erdem made important contacts in Ankara with his accompanying delegation. Meeting with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Mayor Erdem conveyed the economic and commercial expectations of the district first hand. During the visit, ALTSO Assembly Speaker Mehmet Kural, Assembly Member Önder Görgülü and MHP Chief Advisor to the Chairman Özgür Bayraktar were also present.
Exchange Rate Pressure and Residence Restrictions are on the Agenda
During the meeting, the effects of recent fluctuations in exchange rates on production and trade were discussed in detail. President Erdem stated that exchange rate policies reduced profitability in the tourism sector and that there were serious pauses in investments as investors' forecasts for the future weakened. In addition, it was emphasized that the foreign residence restrictions implemented in Alanya in recent years negatively affected not only the construction and real estate sector, but also all commercial activities in the region. It was stated that this situation also caused losses in the country's economy.
Problems Pending Solution File Presented
ALTSO delegation presented Bahçeli to Bahçeli the comprehensive file prepared regarding the solution of the residence problems that they have been working on for a long time and previously forwarded to the relevant authorities. Also within the scope of the visit; Critical issues such as increasing the competitiveness of the tourism sector, difficulties encountered in agricultural production, export supports and the need for qualified workforce were also brought to the agenda. Thanking Bahçeli for his close attention and acceptance of the issues, Mayor Erdem reiterated his request for support to strengthen the investment potential of the district.
