The One with One Heart in Cumhuriyet Square Antalya Did Not Forget

Antalya Governorship's coordination of the 10th anniversary commemoration program of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day, organized with the theme "The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours", was held in Cumhuriyet Square with the participation of thousands of citizens. The program was attended by Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, Chief Public Prosecutor Fatih Kocaman, Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, Provincial Police Chief Dr. Sabit Akın Zaimoğlu, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Ahmet Kavukcu, 3rd Infantry Training Brigade Commander Infantry Colonel Ayhan Ocak and Deputy Coast Guard Group Commander Lieutenant Colonel Erdinç Karadeniz and many protocol members, Relatives of the martyrs and citizens attended. The program started with a moment of silence, the National Anthem and the recitation of the Holy Quran, and the heroic martyrs were commemorated with prayers.

Harsh Reaction from Governor Şahin to the Focus of Betrayal

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Şahin drew attention to the epic written by the Turkish nation on the night of July 15 and stated that the past 10 years were an important time period to analyze the treachery experienced. Emphasizing that traitors are trying to manipulate people by exploiting national and religious feelings, Şahin called out to the fugitive members of the terrorist organization and stated that they should stop being the pawns of foreign powers and surrender to Turkish justice. Giving examples of treason from history, Şahin reminded that the descendants and names of those who betrayed the homeland were doomed to disappear in foreign cultures.

"Türkiye Has Become a Global Power"

Stating that Turkey was freed from its shackles with the suppression of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt, Governor Şahin stated that the country has become a great global power in the last 10 years, thanks to its backed stance and national policies. In the program where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's address to the nation was projected on the screens, heroic poems and folk songs were sung by the students. The commemoration event ended with the tahajjud prayer performed at Yivli Minare Mosque after the salas recited at 00.13 at midnight.
