The Youth of the Future Will Grow Up in the Shadow of the Pulpit

As the 2026 Summer Quran Courses prepare to open their doors on Monday, July 6, preparations throughout the province have been completed. Provincial Mufti Aydın Yığman, who published a comprehensive message on the occasion of the start of the courses, emphasized that it is vital to convey religious education from the right sources and with the right methods. Mufti Yığman stated that the summer period is the most productive service for the spiritual building of the youth and that children are the most honorable guests of mosques.

Spirituality is Learned in Mosques, Not in Schools

Provincial Mufti stated that only religious education can be given in schools and that the main spiritual education will come true in the house of Allah, under the shadow of the pulpit and mihrab, and argued that children should be made to experience the atmosphere of the mosque. Addressing the religious officials, Yığman pointed out that instead of waiting for the ready community to come to mosques, the community of the future should be trained today. Stating that children should be accepted with their joy in mosques, the Mufti instructed that children should not be pressured to behave as dignified as adults and should be shown compassion.

National Consciousness and Love for the Homeland Will Be Instilled

The Provincial Mufti emphasized that not only religious knowledge but also national and spiritual values will be conveyed to children during the course, and that the importance of love of homeland, the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 and the struggle for independence will be taught to young generations. Reminding that it is impossible to compensate for a lost generation, Yığman asked the religious officials to look after the children entrusted to them by working with full dedication and sensitivity, without using holidays or personal affairs as an excuse.
