Future Tourism Professionals Embraced the Sector in ALKÜ

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University celebrated April 15-22 Tourism Week with a comprehensive series of events. Conferences, panels and cultural events came to the fore in the celebrations held in cooperation with ALKÜ Faculty of Tourism and ALTSO Tourism Vocational School. The opening of the week, which started with the Culture Street established on the Kestel Campus, was attended by RTÜK Deputy President Dr. Deniz Güçer, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu and Prof. Dr. Işık Bayraktar.

Pioneers of the Sector Shared Their Experiences

Important representatives of the tourism world met with students in the panels held throughout the week. In the panel moderated by Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Burçin Cevdet Çetinsöz, ALTİD President Cem Özcan, POYD Board Members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahar and İzzet Bekir and ALTAV Board Member Alper Gencelli took part. Participants shared their sectoral experiences by evaluating the effects of the Middle East crisis on regional tourism.

Career Journey and Cultural Events

Within the scope of the events, Cilvarda Restaurant Chef Yiğit Ulus and Titan Hotels General Manager Hüseyin Sedef held interviews on leadership and destination management. Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan emphasized that the university will continue to add value to the city with projects in the field of tourism. Tourism Week ended with the serving of geographically indicated Gülüklü Soup and environmental awareness activities.
