Tradesmen Under the Burden of Debt Will Listen to the Good News from Ankara
Alanya ALESO President Özdemir stated that the 29 percent deferred interest on tax and SGK debts puts pressure on tradesmen and demanded that the debts be restructured at the rate of inflation.
While the possibility of unsecured transactions of up to 10 million TL with a maturity of up to 72 months, offered within the scope of the restructuring of tax and SGK debts, was welcomed by the tradesmen, the high deferred interest rates attracted reaction. Alanya Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen President Ali İhsan Özdemir emphasized that the 29 percent deferred interest in the current regulation creates a heavy burden for small tradesmen struggling with economic difficulties. It was stated that the debts should be made payable by updating them only at the rate of inflation, without adding high interest to the principal amount.
Collateral and Blockages Lock Trade
It was pointed out that tradesmen, whose rent, energy and supply expenses increased as the tourist season remained below expectations, had difficulty in providing cash flow. It was requested that the blockages and guarantees on the vehicles, residences and workplaces of the tradesmen who regularly pay their installments within the scope of the restructuring be removed. It was noted that it became impossible for tradesmen who could not use their assets to continue their commercial activities.
Application Deadline is August 31
It is reminded that the application deadline for tradesmen who want to benefit from the current opportunities is 31 August. Mayor Özdemir called on the authorities before the deadline and stated that a fair regulation in the inflation rate instead of deferred interest is essential for the tradesmen to survive. It was emphasized that the empowerment of tradesmen will directly contribute to the country's economy.
