99.5 Percent of Public Order Incidents Were Clarified in Antalya in October

Antalya's Peace, Security and Public Order Information Meeting, organized within the scope of the "Turkey's Peace" project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was held at the Antalya Governorship Government House. Governor Hulusi Şahin, who made statements to the press at the meeting; Provincial Police Chief Dr. Sabit Akın Zaimoğlu was accompanied by Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Hüseyin Bekmez and Coast Guard Antalya Group Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Söylemez.

Thousands of Wanted Persons Caught

Governor Şahin stated that a total of 10 thousand 781 public order incidents occurred throughout the province in October and that 99.5 percent of the incidents were clarified by the police and gendarmerie teams. Noting that 4 thousand 838 people wanted for various crimes were caught and 691 of them were arrested, Şahin stated that 1 million 197 thousand 484 people and 1 million 65 thousand 93 vehicles were questioned in 2 thousand 979 applications carried out throughout the city. While many unlicensed weapons and stolen vehicles were seized during the inspections, jewelry and cash worth millions of lira were seized.

Smuggling and Narcotics Operations Do Not Slow Down

In 207 operations carried out within the scope of the Fight against Smuggling and Organized Crime, 300 suspects were prosecuted and 9 people were arrested. As a result of the operations, criminal proceeds and assets exceeding 1 billion 159 million TL were seized. On the anti-drug side, 1,303 suspects were processed in 1,183 operations and 158 people were arrested and sent to prison. During the investigation, large amounts of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and synthetic pharmaceuticals were seized.

Irregular Migration and Traffic Controls

In 18 operations against immigrant smuggling, 7 organizers were arrested and 146 irregular immigrants were delivered to the removal center. Governor Şahin announced that the number of foreigners residing in the city with legal permission is 145 thousand 509. While administrative penalties were imposed on 93 thousand 592 of 625 thousand 875 drivers inspected by traffic teams, 3 thousand 603 vehicles were banned from traffic. It was reported that 6 people died and 1,487 people were injured in 2,125 traffic accidents during the month.

It was reported that the Coast Guard teams checked 589 marine vessels during the 3,080-hour cruise and imposed administrative fines for cases that violated environmental legislation.
