Alanya Businesses Polluting Beaches Will Be Disclosed

Alanya Municipality June Ordinary Assembly Meeting was held under the management of Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik. At the meeting, while evaluating the past month, harsh measures to be taken against infrastructure works, traffic problems and environmental pollution were discussed. Additionally, it was announced that Assembly Member Haydar Uyar will act as Deputy Mayor Servet Ünlü, who is receiving treatment due to health problems. As a result of environmental projects, it was stated that the 2025 Best Environmental Education and Awareness Activity Award was won for the sixth time.

Purification and Infrastructure Works Are Nearing Completion

Revision works carried out at the Central Treatment Plant have been largely completed. President Özçelik stated that the first and second ventilation systems were put into operation and the settling pond was renewed and started to operate. It was stated that the installation process of odor eliminating equipment ordered from abroad continues in the facility, where the purification capacity was increased by 15 thousand tons. Sewerage, electricity and drinking water lines were renewed on Atatürk Street and Yayla Yolu Street in the city centre; It was reported that these planned works will continue in Mahmutlar, Kestel, Konaklı and Avsallar regions.

Expectation of Expropriation Against Traffic Problem

It was emphasized that the remaining part of the Eastern Ring Road project should be completed quickly for Mahmutlar traffic, which is one of the biggest problems of the people of the region. It was stated that they are ready for inter-institutional cooperation to complete the process as soon as possible and to ease traffic by opening the road in the area where the expropriation decision was taken. It was also announced that science teams were mobilized to repair the plateau roads damaged due to excessive rains and new construction machines will join the fleet. It was shared with the public that 300 thousand liras of savings were achieved by reducing foreign dependency in cultural activities and the production of various printed materials.

No Concessions Will Be Made Against Those Who Pollute the Environment

Giving a clear response to the discussions on sea pollution, Mayor Özçelik announced that the pollution is not only caused by treatment facilities, but that 22 hotels that discharge sewage and rainwater lines directly to the sea have been identified. This year, it was announced that the names and photographs of hotels, apartments or businesses that do not comply with the rules and pollute the environment will be disclosed to the public. At the end of the meeting, Mayor Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın invited the citizens to watch the matches of the National Football Team together at the International Beach Sports Center.
