Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Had a Say in Global Management

A significant success has been achieved at the local government level in the international Metropolis network, which brings together major metropolises around the world. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality increased its power in the international arena by assuming two critical responsibilities in the global scale organization as a result of the latest evaluations and votes.

According to the official statement, Antalya Deputy Secretary General of Metropolitan Municipality Raman Demir was appointed to an important position by taking part in the decision-making mechanism of the organization. Demir was elected as Treasurer of the Metropolis Board of Directors for the 2027-2029 period, becoming the city's representative in international management.

Global Education Center Authorization Received

In addition to the high-level appointment, local government has turned into a center that will contribute to the institutional development of municipalities around the world. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has been authorized as the Metropolis International Training Institute (MITI) Training Center, which is the official training body of the organization. With this authority, the city has become one of the main bases where international capacity building activities will be carried out.

The Role of the City in Global Governance Has Been Strengthened

These strategic decisions took the position of the local government in international networks to a new level. The leading city of the Mediterranean has gone beyond being just a member city of the organization and has strengthened its place among world cities that take active responsibility in global governance mechanisms and international capacity building activities.
