Attention Turned to Tuvalu Before the Antalya Summit

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum visited Tuvalu, the Pacific country most affected by the climate crisis, before the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be hosted in Antalya. The Institution came together with scientists and local people in the island country, which is in danger of being submerged due to rising sea levels, and examined the environmental threats on site.

The Voice of the Pacific Will Be Carried to Turkey

The Turkish delegation, which directly observes the effects of climate change on the island countries, will continue its contacts after field studies in the region. It was reported that the data obtained during the visit and the demands of the island people will be transferred first to the Pre-COP Summit to be held in Fiji, and then to the COP31 organization in Antalya, which will be the center of global climate diplomacy.
