Diplomatic and technical contacts accelerated in line with the goal of sustainable cities during the COP31 process. In this context, a summit titled "Developing Climate Resilient Cities in the Process Leading to COP31: From Resource Efficiency to Urban Resilience" was held in Ankara in cooperation with the Bank of Provinces and the Asian Development Bank. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality was also represented at a high level in the organization held under the chairmanship of Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Deputy Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Büşra Özdemir, who attended the summit, closely followed the region's preparation processes against the climate crisis.

Resilient Cities of the Future Discussed

At the summit, topics regarding local governments increasing resource efficiency and implementing environmentally focused projects were discussed in detail. Emphasizing the importance of urban resilience strategies to be implemented on a local scale, Özdemir stated that the steps to be taken in the future are vital for the region.

During the meetings, concrete steps to be taken to create sustainable and livable cities were discussed. Deputy Mayor Özdemir stated that they will continue to contribute to all kinds of cooperation that will strengthen the vision of a city resilient against the climate crisis.
