The Memory of the Resistance Revived in the Skies of Antalya

As part of the 10th anniversary of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day, the "Memory and Souvenir 15 July Photography Exhibition", prepared under the coordination of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, was opened to visitors with a ceremony. The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which presented our nation's struggle for democracy with memorable photographs and visual content on the night of July 15, 2016, was held with intense participation. Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, institution directors, military personnel and many citizens attended the ceremony held at Antalya Airport.

Returned from the Brink of the Abyss

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Şahin stated that it is a historical responsibility to transfer the July 15 coup attempt to new generations. Şahin stated that telling what happened that day and not letting them forget it has become more important with each passing year, and emphasized that they have to explain and make young people feel what kind of a cliff Türkiye came back from the brink of, and what a great trouble its independence has overcome through willpower.

The target was Independence and Independence

Stating that the coup attempt directly targeted the sovereignty of the Turkish nation, Governor Şahin noted that the action was an attempt to usurp the national will. Stating that the main purpose of opening this exhibition at Antalya Airport, which hosts more than 40 million guests a year, is to keep the national consciousness alive, Şahin invited all citizens to the commemoration events. After the opening ribbon was cut, protocol members examined the photo exhibition.
