The theater festival, organized in cooperation with Alanya Municipality and the Directorate of National Education, opened its doors with the participation of 17 high schools.

Alanya Stage Opened Its Doors to Young Talents

Alanya The 12th High School Theater Festival, organized this year in partnership with the Municipality of Alanya and the District Directorate of National Education, opened its curtains at the Alanya Cultural Center (AKM). As part of the event, theater plays prepared by 17 different high schools in the district will be staged between 7 and 24 May.

Young Talents on Stage

Speaking at the opening ceremony, District Director of National Education Yusuf Yılmaz emphasized that the inter-institutional cooperation will take the organization further every year. Municipal Council Member İrem Yunusoğlu stated that they are always supporters of young people and said, "The fact that young people go on stage and perform gives us hope. While people can sometimes get excited even when speaking two words, these young people put on huge productions at their high school age. We are proud of them." he said. Municipal Theater Art Director Fırat Onur Deniz also expressed his satisfaction that the journey, which started with only 4 schools in 2013, has reached 17 schools by 2026 and the hall is completely full.

The First Performance Received Great Acclaim

The opening play of the festival was staged by the students of Mehmet Arif Türktaş Anatolian High School with the work titled "The Battle of the Whistle Makers and the Brush Makers". Students who received great applause for their successful performances; Participation certificates were given by Yılmaz, Yunusoğlu, Libraries and Museum Director Hüseyin Çinal, District National Education Branch Manager Selma Gök and Ercan Albay.
