Doğan Hızlan Library Opened Its Doors with Its Renewed Look

Dogan Hızlan Library, which serves within the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, gained a modern structure with the necessary renovation works after 14 years of intensive use. As part of the work, the library's book collection was developed, while study areas, children's section, garden landscaping and exterior visual applications were completely overhauled.

Modern Look with Extensive Renovation

Doğan Hızlan Library Unit Manager Özgün Durak stated that the library gained a new face with the renovation. Stating that they reunited with the readers with the renewed collection, work area and children's section, Durak noted that the physical checks of the books coming from all over Türkiye were carried out in the newly created book donation control area and the preparation processes of the works to be added to the collection were carried out in this area.

New Supports for Students

Durak said that there are various resources on the education shelves for students who use the library to study, and stated that the "Pending Book" application for students with limited financial means continues. Students can purchase certain books in this section and use them at home. In addition, free Wi-Fi service is offered in the library for visitors and students studying.

Special Exhibition for Art Lovers

The renewed library also hosts cultural and artistic activities. The photography exhibition consisting of writer portraits by master photographers Ara Güler and Çerkez Karadağ met with the readers again. Stating that the exhibition had been in the library before, Durak stated that they wanted to bring this exhibition together with book lovers again and make them experience nostalgia.

Book Donations Reach Türkiye

Stating that Doğan Hızlan Library's book donation campaign continues, Özgün Durak said that the donated surplus books were delivered to different points of Turkey. Stating that the requested books were sent free of charge via PTT Cargo, Durak stated that they are trying to meet the intense book demands, especially from penal institutions.
