Selinus Reveals Its Historical Secrets to ALKÜ Team

The 2026 study season of the Archaeological Surveys of the Ancient City of Selinus and its Surroundings, carried out with the permission of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has been completed. Field studies carried out under the chairmanship of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) were carried out between 7 and 21 September.

New Season in Archaeological Surveys Completed

Expert teams made detailed examinations in the field within the scope of surface research aiming to unearth the rich historical and cultural heritage of the region. New data regarding the settlement pattern of the ancient city was obtained through technical and archaeological documentation studies carried out throughout the period.

Works Shedding Light on the History of the Region Will Continue

The research carried out with the participation of academics and expert researchers within ALKÜ is planned to continue in the coming periods. The findings are aimed to contribute to regional tourism and the scientific world.
