The World's Master Illustrators Shaped the Alanya Caravan with Their Lines

The 10th organization of the International Alanya Cartoon Competition was completed with the jury evaluation meeting held at the Hasanağalar Mansion. 323 artists from 53 different countries participated in the event organized with the theme of caravan with a total of 856 works. As a result of the meticulous examinations carried out by master illustrators Ahmet Öztürklevent, Constantin Pavel, Halit Kurtulmuş, Mehmet Zeber, Meral Onat and the Director of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Nimet Hacıkura, 60 works made it to the finals. With the decision of the jury, 14 of these works were deemed worthy of awards, while 46 were selected to be exhibited.

The Grand Prize Went to the Türkiye Representative

As a result of the evaluation, the first prize was won by the Turan Aksoy competing on behalf of the Türkiye. The second prize was won Valentin Georgiev the Bulgaristan representative, while the third prize was given to the artist named Stefaan Provijn, a citizen of Belçika. The commemorative and institutional honorable mentions of the competition were distributed to the following names from the international arena: Bedri Koraman Memorial Special Award Constantin Sunnerberg (Fransa), Deniz Som Memorial Special Award Galym Boranbayev (Kazakistan), İbrahim Tapa Memorial Special Award Oleksiy Kustovsky (Ukrayna), Musa Gümüş Memorial Special Award Gabriel Rusu (Romanya), Alanya Municipal Honorable Mention Fırat Saraç (Türkiye), Cartoonists Association Honorable Mention Sajad Rafeei (İran), ALTAV Honorable Mention Tan Yücel (Türkiye), ALTİD Honorable Mention Javad Takjoo (İran), ALTSO Honorable Mention Danny De Haes (Belçika), TÜRSAB Honorable Mention Award Murteza Albayrak (Türkiye) and Special Jury Award Bilig Ba (Çin).

Artifacts Will Decorate Historical Kızılkule Walls

The award ceremony of the competition, where the winning artists will be offered flight tickets and accommodation as well as cash prizes, will be held on Saturday, May 23, at the 24. It will be held within the scope of the International Alanya Culture, Art and Tourism Festival. The landmark Kızılkule, whose 800th anniversary is celebrated this year, will host distinguished works. In addition, during the event, a special exhibition prepared in memory of the master illustrator and jury member Gümüş who passed away last year will be opened to art lovers.
