Alanya Children Turned Banana Fiber into Art
The little ones met at the Banana Fiber Workshop organized by Alanya Municipality Directorate of Culture, Art and Social Affairs, and designed their own wind roses by experiencing traditional handicraft within Hasanağlar Mansion.
Alanya Municipality continues its social projects to develop children's imagination and manual skills. Banana Fiber Workshop, themed "From Bananas to Art, from Dreams to Design", organized by the Directorate of Culture, Art and Social Affairs, was held with the participation of children between the ages of 7-12.
The Adventure of Banana Fiber Explained Practically
In the event hosted byHasanağlar Mansion, the historical place was first introduced to the children. Then, the processes of obtaining and weaving banana fiber, which is a local value, were explained practically by experts.
They Designed Their Own Wind Vane
Children, who designed their own wind roses using banana fibers in the workshop, learned the traditional craft of the city and had a pleasant time. Municipal authorities stated that activities that keep children's educational and cultural heritage alive will continue uninterruptedly.
