An Information Stand was Established for Awareness

Alanya Training and Research Hospital Infection Control Committee opened an awareness stand at the entrance of the polyclinic within the scope of World Hepatitis Day. At the stand, which was established to raise awareness of citizens, comprehensive information was given by healthcare personnel about viral hepatitis, especially Hepatitis B. Brochures were distributed, explaining in detail the ways of transmission of the disease, methods of protection and the protective effects of vaccination. The event, supported by the hospital management with full participation, attracted great attention from the citizens.

Experts Call for Regular Check-Up and Vaccination

Chief Physician Prof. made a statement at the event. Dr. Banu Karakuş Yılmaz pointed out that hepatitis is a preventable and controllable disease with early diagnosis. Yılmaz called on citizens to have regular health checks and not to neglect their recommended vaccinations. Infectious Diseases Specialist Sema Tekin Şahin stated that the most common cause of chronic liver disease is Hepatitis B and C viruses. Şahin emphasized that viral hepatitis can lead to serious consequences, including cirrhosis and liver cancer, and stated that preventive measures play a critical role in terms of public health.
