Alanya Training and Research Hospital established a special information stand at the Gynecology Clinic to raise awareness within the scope of World Breastfeeding Week, 1-7 August. At the event, which attracted great interest from mothers and expectant mothers, the critical role of breastfeeding on baby and mother health was explained.

At the event, which was held with the participation of hospital management and healthcare professionals, expectant mothers were given detailed information about correct breastfeeding techniques and methods of expressing breast milk. While informative brochures were distributed at the established stand, mothers in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service were also visited in their rooms. During the visits made by health personnel, breastfeeding techniques were demonstrated in practice and the importance of breast milk for baby development was emphasized.

Making a statement within the scope of the event, Alanya Training and Research Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Banu Karakuş Yılmaz stated that breast milk meets all the nutritional needs of a newborn baby. Chief Physician Yılmaz pointed out that breast milk is the most valuable nutrient that supports healthy growth with its unique components and said, "In order to raise awareness in pregnant women, trainings will continue on the importance of breast milk, its benefits and correct breastfeeding techniques. Citizens who want to get support on the subject can apply to the Lactation Polyclinic, which serves within the hospital."
