Antalya's Girls Shined in the Ice-Free Curling Tournament

Antalya Within the scope of the project implemented in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, the Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Girls' Support Association, girls in rural areas were introduced to the sport of floor curling. Following the comprehensive training given to students with limited access to sports, a tournament with wide participation was organized throughout Antalya.

The Road from Rural to Championship

Antalya Students from eight schools participated in the tournament held at the Metropolitan Municipality Youth Camp and Training Center. Floor curling competitions, which are the adaptation of the traditional curling sport played on ice to flat ground, witnessed great excitement. As a result of the fierce matches, Menderes Secondary School managed to lift the championship cup.

Self-Confidence and Strategy Together

Thanks to the project, girls were not only introduced to a new sport, but also gained important skills such as teamwork, problem solving and strategic thinking. It is aimed to increase the visibility and self-confidence of young athletes in social life, who learn the rules and subtleties under the supervision of expert trainers. Floor curling was met with great interest by the students from the first day they met.
