Alanya Belediyespor launched the Wheelchair Tennis Team in order to enable disabled individuals to take a more active part in social and sports life. The project, which was initiated with the vision of "Barrier-Free City of Sports", attracted great interest in a short time and applications were officially opened.

A Comprehensive and Expert Team Has Been Established

The Wheelchair Tennis Team started its activities with a holistic approach that covers not only sports success but also the physical and psychological development of the athletes. While there are physiotherapists, doctors and psychiatrists in the staff, the training processes are planned under the coordination of second level tennis coach İbrahim Norman. Norman carries out the work in an integrated manner with Alanya Municipality Accessible Park and Life Center

Awareness Movement with Broad Institutional Support

Evaluating the project, Club President Faruk Konukçu stated that they aim to make sports accessible to everyone and emphasized that this step is a strong social awareness movement. Konukçu, especially the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which supported the establishment of the team, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Alanya University, Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ALTİD and He thanked the Patika Association officials.
