91 Smart Sensor Support from Antalya Metropolitan Municipality to Producers in Aksu and Kaş

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality continues its grant support to producers within the scope of the Digital Agriculture Project carried out to support technological transformation in greenhouse agriculture. In line with the studies, smart sensor devices were delivered to a total of 91 producers engaged in greenhouse cultivation in Murtuna and Gökdere neighborhoods of Aksu district and Ahatlı District of Kaş district.

Temperature and Humidity Will Be Monitored Instantly in Greenhouses

Thanks to the project that aims to increase agricultural efficiency and encourage sustainable production, producers will be able to instantly monitor the temperature and humidity values in their greenhouses via the mobile application. The system allows sudden temperature changes and frost risk to be detected early and timely precautions to be taken; It will contribute to preventing diseases and productivity losses caused by excessive moisture and making irrigation planning more accurate.

Senior Agricultural Engineer Nermin Ata, who works at the Department of Agricultural Services of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that farmers can set an alarm via the mobile application, and emphasized that the system eliminates the necessity of frequent trips to greenhouses and provides time and cost savings for producers. Stating that the project was implemented in Elmalı, Kumluca, Demre, Finike, Kaş, Serik and Aksu districts, Ata stated that 61 sensors were given to two neighborhoods in Aksu.

Producers' Winter Watch Burden Reduces

Kenan Şevtekin, one of the producers of Murtuna District, explained that they burn stoves in greenhouses and keep watch throughout the night against the risk of frost in the winter months, and said that with the new system, they can follow the temperature values digitally from their homes. Another producer, Murat Kahraman, stated that before, they had to go to the greenhouse every half hour or leave a guard on duty to control the temperature, and added that thanks to the possibility of remote monitoring, a great convenience was provided in winter conditions.
